The USS Ranger (NCC-74658) is an Intrepid-class light explorer assigned to the Fourth Fleet under the command of Captain Gus Tycho.
As a part of Sirius Squadron's Memphis Division, the unit charged with operational analysis and long-term research, Ranger acts as a forward scout and information-gathering platform. Where other ships of the division conduct in-depth scientific study of regions and phenomena, sometimes as a follow-up to the wider squadron’s exploratory missions, Ranger engages in reconnaissance operations.
