The USS Cygnus (NCC-71954) is a Nebula-class heavy cruiser currently assigned to the Fourth Fleet's Challenger Squadron. Captain Allegra Rosetti was given command of the Cygnus after a few turbulent years for the ship which saw three commanding officers in two years. It's hoped that Captain Rosetti's experience will prove to be a stabilising influence and allow the crew to put the past few difficult years behind them.

Service Chronology

2367: USS Cygnus is commissioned and assigned to operations along the Federation-Cardassian border.
2374: The Dominion War begins.
- Cygnus takes part in the First Battle of Chin'toka.
2375: The Dominion War continues.
- Due to being docked at the Antares Fleet Yards, Cygnus misses out on being present at the Second Battle of Chin'toka. She will not see battle again until Starfleet develops a defence against the Breen energy dampening weapon.
- Cygnus is one of the ships involved in the Battle of Cardassia, the final battle of the Dominion War.
2399: Captain Maxwell Stafford arrives onboard the Cygnus and assumes command.
2400: Captain Stafford is relieved of his command and reassigned to the Fourth Fleet's Office of the Chief of Staff, as the new Deputy CoS. He is replaced by Captain Bane Plase.
2400: After just a few months, Captain Bane is relieved of command and replaced by Captain Daniel L. Graves.
2401: Despite being in command for just a little over a year, Captain Graves is relieved of command by the Fourth Fleet's Chief of Staff, now Rear Admiral Maxwell Stafford. Stafford personally taps Captain Allegra Rosetti to take over as the Cygnus commanding officer.
